The Student Volunteers for Democracy Program gives high school students a real life opportunity to see the election process in action by serving as volunteers at the polls on Election Day. The experience motivates these students to be active voters and citizens and to influence their peers as well.

Students may participate with the permission of their school district, teachers and parents. Eighty to ninety percent of the students who take part say they will vote in and also serve as poll workers in future elections as a result of their Student Volunteers for Democracy experience. We believe it is important that students gain insight as to how the electoral system works so they may confidently carry these principals forward in their adult lives.
